Student Accommodation – Leeds

Lightweight Steel Framing

The Foundry, a £22 million ten-storey city centre development, now houses 239 student bedrooms and extensive communal facilities, including a gym, cinema, games room, music room, and study area. The lower two floors feature hot rolled steel and cast in-situ concrete, while the upper eight floors are made from cold rolled light gauge steel, manufactured off-site for efficiency and reduced waste. High insulation levels and low-energy fittings ensure the building surpasses regulation requirements. Impressively, The Foundry achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating and generates 10% of its energy through LTZ technologies and a CHP unit.
